Yale Drama pupils, both alumni and current undergrads, did a fantastic job in this resurrection of this musical that opened in New Haven from the mid-1950s. Congrats to all involved with the creation!
As soon as I bought the tickets to this performance I'd not read the fine print
and believed we'd be visiting a staged musical like a Broadway production. We
went to view it nearly half-heartedly believing it'd be a musical inspection by
only a couple of singers. Boy was I wrong! The massive cast of listeners was
excellent along with the orchestra was fantastic. The radio theory together with
the narrator and audio effects was quite attractive. I'm waiting with bated
breath for their next operation.
The drama was well done, places were amazing, and that I could hear each the
lines. We had good seats in the Heymann Center at Lafayette, LA.. I introduced
my niece with me, that had been attending a drama for the very first time. It
was a fantastic experience for her and she fell in love with plays along with
the narrative of My Fair Lady.
My only criticism was that the drama was about 20 minutes too long. It lasted 3
hourswhich is more than the film.
We appreciated the drama and the encounter. The singing was quite solid and the
point sets were created with fine attention. We were enthralled in the opening
curtain--The throw was magical, the audio attractive, stage settings amazing.
The extra humor caused the whole audience to explode with laughter. The whole
creation was grand.
